The truth is that Eoin sees the line as a flexible thing. If Paddy weren't around, Eoin would still get into just as many scrapes. He might not win as many but he can talk himself into plenty of trouble when he's feeling mischievous.

How he’d tackled some unlucky German to the ground and beat him bloody and senseless before he dragged Cooper out of the firing zone and back into safety.
“You really shoulda seen him, Pad. It was beautiful. Just fuckin’ beautiful.”
As if Paddy didn’t already know that. As if Paddy wouldn’t have given anything to have seen it in person.
(Or, Paddy has to stay back from a mission on account of broken ribs. He handles it just fine.)
