He is forced to learn how to function in a world were magic exists, demons are a thing, mythical creatures hold down normal jobs, and angels and gods act like the 1%. At least he has some close friends willing to help him learn how not to accidentally die.

Wei Ying is saved from the jaws of hungry dogs by a strange man, or rather a ghost in red.
His "red" Gege takes care of him. He's happy but their time together doesn't last very long and he soon finds himself living with the Jiangs. Life goes on well enough untill it doesn't, falling apart at the seems and even as this happens, in his last moments, with the guilt of the cultivation and world and his family on his shoulders he simply wishes to see his Hua Gege once more.

Summary
Wei Wuxian is spoiled, much more than jiejie's betrothed, Jin Zixuan. The difference between the two is Jin Zixuan is arrogant about it, while Wei Wuxian is oblivious to the boundless extent he can get away with everything he does.
Jiang Cheng is so thankful Wei Wuxian sees him and jiejie as his family.
With that, Jiang Cheng can be assured that if Wei Wuxian decides he wants to have the world, he and jiejie will sparingly be safe when his Supreme Ghost King father and Heavenly Martial Emperor father, not to mention his other Ghost King uncle and grandfather, heavenly official uncles and aunts plus wrath level ghost uncles and aunts, would turn heaven and earth upside down just to give him what he wants.
