Summary
Martin just stands there, mind short-circuiting before he realizes that he was a caretaker, and he knows what to do. He wipes away the saliva from Jon’s chin and hails a cab, and he feels just responsible enough to go with him to A&E, which was a fantastic idea because Jon doesn’t come back to himself until Martin’s halfway done with the paperwork.
Jon does not get his proper diagnosis until many years and specialist visits later. They sent him home the first time with fever-reducers and what to look out for in case of another minor seizure. The doctor said that, though uncommon, stress-induced seizures were not wholly unheard of in the medical community, and that history likely would not repeat itself.
aka: history repeats itself, jon has another seizure, and the aftermath.

Summary
He falls in a multichrome void, eyes closed and Eye wide open, a sharp stab of color through a cornea surreal in being and in mind. There is pain that shines bitter white through his heart and as he feels the shifting colors bleed through him (dyed water through flower petals, a slice of a star shining in agony) he feels something shift, something tangible in this place where not even he is real. All at once, Jon dissolves and solidifies, and his eyes—real, physical, seeing eyes—open.
Jon wakes up and finds that nothing is as it should be. His coworkers--friends, here, apparently--are concerned over his strange scars and behavior. Not only that, but teaching a college-level class, dealing with new fears and avatars, and coping with the fact that his Martin isn't here... it's all a bit overwhelming. It's good he isn't on his own, even if the people he used to know are so different here.

Summary
The Magnus Institute, Danny had called it, when he had left home the night before to go off exploring. Virtually untouched. They say it hasn’t even been opened in five years. Something about a murder on site— an old woman found in the basement with a half-dozen gunshots in her chest. Danny had his pick of the whole damn city, and he just had to go and break into the most haunted fucking building in it.
Tim grits his teeth, neck starting to cramp from the angle he’s got it bent at to hold the flashlight between his cheek and shoulder, and jams the lockpick fruitlessly back into the padlock in front of him. Urban exploring, his ass.
In which Danny goes missing, Tim breaks into a building, and the ruined remains of the Magnus Institute carry an Archivist-shaped secret.

Jon has found a position as a museum archivist, and is doing his best to not reveal himself as a monster, while dealing with the guilt of what he had to do to get there. But nothing ever goes to plan, does it?

The Archivist reached out, worn ragged from his forced captivity, and gripped the handle of the door that had never been there. He slowly turned it and paused for just one moment, as if expecting something to stop him, to save him from this newest horror, as once had happened when he was a small child. But there was no one here but his executioner and, somewhere not far enough away, even worse monsters. Stealing himself with what bravery he had left, he pulled the door open and stumbled inside. The door shut with an echoing slam, leaving no chance for him to change his choice.

The thing about time is that, most of the time, it moves linearly, forever marching forwards towards an indeterminate end. And when you refuse to continue forwards, well, the only other option is clear to see.
After all, there’s an infinite multiverse out there that he doomed in ways he couldn’t even comprehend. Surely… surely he could at least save one of them?

Summary
First there was death, the promise of somewhere else, the uncertainty of hope – and then there was this. A rebirth, of sorts.
Jonathan Sims and Martin Blackwood have no memory of any of it. Born into an entirely new world, their lives follow relatively similar tracks until the point where they would have found themselves at the Magnus Institute, and then they simply carry on living without it. Jon finds himself in the unlikely position of paranormal YouTuber, making an indecent amount of money reading out people’s submissions of terrifying and inexplicable events. Martin, aspiring poet, works whatever job will give him enough money to devote to his real passion: exploring abandoned buildings and uploading the videos to share with the world. By chance, the two of them avoid crossing one another’s paths, until one day they do.
As their memories return to them, as the world around them seems to shift and change and fall into frighteningly familiar patterns that only they recognise, Jon and Martin have to make a choice.

It took a few moments - quite a few, in fact, most of them spent huddling on his office couch, cuddling his favourite desktop organiser - to get over the whole ‘so close to death, he probably owed it flowers’ thing, well enough to fully grasp what had happened.
He had gone back in time. He was no longer the Pupil of the Eye, but plain Elias Bouchard, the Heart of the Magnus Institute, with a plan for greatness which he now knew was absolutely, one hundred percent, going to work.

Summary
The tears are flooding down Martin’s face before he’s taken three steps down the footpath outside. He fumbles in his pocket for a tissue and more or less just sobs into it for a while. Which is why, when someone steps onto the pavement in front of him as he exits through the gate, and says, “Martin, why are you crying?” it takes him completely by surprise.

Or, Jon, in the throes of paranoia, stalks Martin all the way down to Devon when he goes to visit his mum. But when Martin comes out of the care home in floods of tears, he finds himself inexplicably incensed with whoever made it happen.
(This wasn’t meant to be a fix-it when I started writing it but it sort of ended up that way)
