Summary
There was a strange finality in the air, the feeling weighing Chris down and pressing against his chest in a way that was making it hard to breathe. The BOW seemed to be able to sense it too as it arose from within the tank, water streaming off its scales and dripping to the floor - roaring at them as if it was throwing the gauntlet down for a fight. While the BOW screeched at them, the sound ear piercing and painful, Chris took the opportunity to see what the monster looked like.
And then immediately wished he hadn’t.

They might’ve forced him to sign over his freedom. Might’ve forced him to twist and contort until he could no longer stand who he was. But they never prepared him for the agonizing pain that came with fixing the shattered pieces of who he once was. For the pain that came with being loved.

Summary
Leon S. Kennedy knew three things with absolute certainty:
1. He’d been choked out and slammed into walls more often in one day than he’d been in fucking years. Which only meant that it was a goddamn miracle that he’d managed to drag himself up the hospital stairs.
2. He really needed to reconsider this whole therapy business, because he could no longer deny that it was hard to close his eyes without finding himself right back in that chair in some fucked up asylum’s makeshift torture attic or being entombed with a girl he’d been desperate to save.
3. He’d risk it all again if it just meant Grace could beam down at Emily a moment longer.

Or me breaking my promise to stick to one shots. But not to worry, I finished the whole thing. I just need to space out the Angst my brain produces in procrastination mode. This is still (technically) Part III: Down-Time may do wonders for the amount of quality time Leon gets to spend with his kids, but it also gives him plenty of space to reflect on all that has happened and really go down a very dark and gloomy memory lane.Series

Summary
'“I fell into a pool of blood, if you can believe. I think it’s in my ears.” Grace huffs a breathy laugh. “Somehow it’s not even in the top ten worst things that've happened to me today.”
She’s a strong girl. She’s going to be okay. Leon flexes his hands again, slips his gloves off, and finally puts his ring back onto his unmarked, uninfected finger, where it belongs.'
Or: Leon and Grace navigate what comes after the events of Requiem. Grace tries to cope and move forward, Leon processes some old hurts and tries to make it better for her, and Chris takes his husband to bed.

Summary
Nineteen hours ago, Leon S. Kennedy was a weapon of the DSO, navigating the sterile, blood-stained halls of ARK to stop Victor Gideon and Zeno. Now, he’s just a man with a silver ring on his finger and a heavy debt to pay to the woman who waited for him.
Returning to the quiet safety of their home, Leon finds more than just the “scrappy” welcome of his wife, Claire Redfield. He finds a family finally on the verge of peace. With Chris Redfield breathing down his neck and Sherry Birkin facing a life-changing medical miracle, the ghosts of Raccoon City feel further away than ever.
But for Leon and Claire, the real “settling of scores” happens behind closed doors. Between the lingering trauma of the field and the fierce, possessive love of a decade-long marriage, they reclaim what the world keeps trying to take from them—one “payment” at a time.
The mission is over. The survivors are home. And this time, Leon isn’t going anywhere.

Summary
It became too much, the sincerity Chris offered, the patience, the way he waited for the other shoe to drop, and Leon looked away, glancing at their joined hands, and it was then that he saw a ring on Chris' finger as well, one that matched his own. He let himself dream, for a moment, let himself fly away in search of a world where his wishes were not impossible, just another fact, and his filter crunched under the weight of it all, so he spoke next.
"Are you married?" Was the question, and Leon bit his lip, looked up and prayed for his words to pass as a joke.
As a joke they passed, because Chris laughed at his question, punching Leon's shoulder lightly.
"Yes, to an idiot." He said, laughter still a glistening shine decorating his face, making his pretty wrinkles pop.
