Mira takes Rumi’s hand, guiding it to her chest. “Do you feel that, Rumi?”
“Rumi,” Zoey calls out softly, finally getting Rumi’s attention as she looks up, wide-eyed. “Do you?”
“Y-Your breasts?” Rumi sputters out, looking so utterly confused, and it would honestly be way more funny under a different circumstance.
Zoey barely stifles her giggles and Mira sighs fondly. “No, not my boobs, Rumi. Maybe another time.” Rumi wants the floor to swallow her whole. “My heart. Do you feel it?”

Summary
Mira's father is not a good father. His encouragements are double-edged, his kindness conditional. Mira is either his to shape into whatever he wants, or she is useless. Fatherhood is just business and children are just contracts to be refined.
Zoey's father is not a good father. Never listens, always silences. Zoey's never enough, too loud, too distracted, too Korean. She's more than can be handled, too quiet, too fixated, too American. Fatherhood feels like a contradiction.
Rumi's father is quite literally a demon from the darkest depths of hell. He promised his daughter would never live in shame. He'll make sure these two girls, these brave hunters, the light in Rumi's life, never will either.

"So," The store clerk starts, raking her gaze over Zoey like she's trying to put together a puzzle but is convinced that half of the pieces she has are wrong. "a farmer… huh?"
"Wha- I- guh- dnt- I can farm!" Zoey splutters, defensive.
The pink-haired woman just arches an infuriatingly perfect brow, a smirk starting to pull at one side of her mouth.
"Right. Because all farmers know that when the growing season starts the first thing they need to buy is three twelve packs of Monster."

It watches from the treeline, eyes glinting a primal, warning tone. It hasn't moved, not since Zoey spotted it, but Zoey gets the feeling thats intentional. Like it's daring her, waiting for her to make a decision and strike.

Summary
She is the dog that bites when a hand extends itself to feed, the dog that is wrong down to its very bones, down to the marrow, down to something genetic and intrinsic and unchangeable, the dog they put down to spare it its own misery.
She wishes it were as simple as a matter of guilt. Guilt for hurting them, for hiding, for lying, because maybe she could’ve fixed that, because guilt, at least, would’ve meant that she’s only done something wrong.

"Rumi, love, shut up." Mira's hands had moved with purpose, pulling her hair behind her head and into a severe ponytail, but now they hesitated, running over Rumi's shoulders, almost like she was worried. "You know you can talk to us, right?"
"I know I can, but--"
"We saw you," Zoey blurted, face immediately flushing red at the admission. "We saw you shift back. You were a wolf, then you were a girl. Um, a woman."
"A very naked woman, I might add," Mira added dryly.
"Oh."

Summary
Rumi has been Spider-Woman for several years now, and she's come a long way in being the hero her city needs her to be.
The only thing she's never quite mastered is balancing that part of her life with her personal one. Between work with Bobby as a research assistant, helping Celine out at FEAST, and maintaining her ever-growing friendship(?) with Mira and Zoey, she's surprised she has yet to mess any of it up. Knock on wood!But now Mira and Zoey have jobs at the Daily Bugle, and their once-silly fangirling over Spider-Woman could become a very real problem if they decide to chase after the stories.
Add a worrying new gang called "The Demons" into the equation, and Rumi just hopes she can get a handle on all of it before her life and her city fall apart.
Note: I imagine Rumi's suit is designed a lot like Gwen Stacy's, but with purple, gold, and white as her main colors. She has to work very hard to hide her braid in the hood lol.

Summary
For the most part, things have settled after the battle with Gwi-Ma. Mira's shoulders feel lighter. Zoey doesn't feel as suffocated.
Rumi has never felt more unsettled in her life.
Well, that's a lie, but at the current moment, it certainly feels true. Things just seem too peaceful and it's making her restless. Years of keeping every little thing repressed and hidden away has raised its own unique set of challenges as she tries to get used to letting it all go.
Not to mention she's feeling WEIRD now every time she sees her friends together. She tries to tell herself it's just a side effect of living freely.
Mira's and Zoey's advances keep making it harder to ignore.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”

Summary
Rumi sucks in a breath, releasing her shoulders to the best of her ability. She spreads her fingers wide in the carpet in front of her, claws extending before she sheepishly pulls them back. Mira and Zoey watch the display with an unreadable expression when Rumi eventually offers:
”So what do you want to know?”
Mira leans up with a lethal grace, her face inches from Rumi as she searches the half-demon’s gaze.
"I want to know how it was so easy for you to lie to us.”

Shame, it turns out, should not be hand fed. Rumi learns that the hard way when her patterns refuse to fade after the Honmoon is sealed. She thought fulfilling a ritual bigger than herself might finally make her lovable. Maybe even whole. But the aftermath is murkier than she expected.
Defeating Gwi-Ma should’ve been cause for celebration. And yet the girls who fought side by side can hardly look each other in the eye. Lies sit heavy, grief lingers, and nothing feels quite like it should. Follow Rumi, Mira, and Zoey as they try to piece together what’s left between them, even as something more demonic, more aching claws its way out from deep inside Rumi.
