There are times where Regulus wishes his life had turned out different, times where he wishes he could still perform on stages, dance atop bars all night, and kiss James Potter on the mouth. But he would never regret giving any of those things up because that would mean regretting Harry. His wonderful, darling son.
Regulus Black had given up his own dream and lover, to raise his son. Over the years he has become somewhat content with staying in the small town all his friends have left, working in a shitty hotel, and stretching every dollar to provide the best life possible for his son. Regulus is happy where he is, truly. Hense why he feels absolutely nothing but anger when James Potter, the unknowing father of his child who left him for fame, suddenly decides that he wants to be in His and Harry's life.

So, what does one do with a second chance at life? They try to redeem it, of course.
