Summary
Vox is a silent movie star struggling to transition into ‘talkies’ after the massive success of The Jazz Singer. To remedy this, his producer hires an aspiring radio singer, Mr. Alastor Hartfelt, as a vocal instructor. Immediately smitten by Mr. Hartfelt, but completely doomed, Vox tries a new nightclub where he meets a beautiful woman, Alice Starhart, known for her beautiful singing voice, red coat and tight buttons. By some cosmic joke, Alastor and Alice tell him they are brother and sister. Vox finds himself in a love triangle with the brother and sister pair, completely torn between his feelings for them.
Only to find out…they might be closer than brother and sister.
Aka 1920’s au with a genderfluid Alastor and Vox in love with both versions. Loosely inspired by Singin’ in the Rain.

Summary
Desperation fills his being as the sounds get louder, indicating that GUN is drawing closer. He can pick out human voices, detached and monotonous commands, ordering a thorough search of the area. He needs to leave now.
So Shadow reaches within himself, reaching for the remnants of his energy, trying to find somewhere, anywhere, to go. He tries to think of some place safe, something he knows.
A vivid image pops into his mind. One with deep blue quills, green eyes and the most hopeful smile he has seen in a long time. Shadow reaches for it, for him, and allows himself to be pulled away. The air crackles around him, and he can feel the world twisting, turning, and the greenery disappears with a snap.
Sonic, he thinks, and moves across the world, tethered by the only thing he still knows.

And after he is out of breath, after his body aches for real, enough that he can focus on that pain rather than the one in his heart, Sonic goes to visit Shadow.
Well, it’s not really Shadow. It’s more like his grave. A grave that only Sonic knows about, because he made it and didn’t tell anyone. A grave that only he visits, once the world is quiet and everyone is asleep. He fashions it out of a decently sized rock that he finds in the woods, and painstakingly carves the words “Shadow the Hedgehog,” onto it. There’s a picture frame leaning against the stone, the only picture he could ever find of Shadow, with his arm around Maria and a smile on his face.
Sonic thinks that the picture is more Shadow than Shadow himself was, at least until the other hedgehog agreed to team up with him. That’s when Sonic saw the real Shadow; the lost, lonely soul who’d had everything taken from him, and still overcame his pain to sacrifice himself for the world. It’s only fair that someone should remember that, remember him.
Sonic grieves Shadow.

Sonic Movie 3 Spoilers!
Sonic is struck with grief in the wake of Shadow's sacrifice. Shadow, in his truest form—his pain, his honor, the good in his heart—is Sonic's little secret. The world isn't ready. Nobody would understand, not even his own family. Sonic is more than ready to shoulder the burden.
But Shadow's not dead.
It doesn't take long for he and Sonic to fall into their awkward little tango. Midnights spent sneaking into the Wachowski household lends well to forming a strong, indestructible bond, and it's only natural that, over the course of it all, two hedgehogs fall in love.
Title comes from the song Hunter by Paris Paloma, which played at the theater before my second viewing of Sonic 3, and now is a song I associate wholly with sonadow. Haha, whoops!

Summary
Sonic is so caught up in his thoughts he doesn’t react to the hand grabbing his muzzle— gently too— with said alien hedgehog inspecting him with childish curiosity. It’s not a gentility he was expecting in such sharp talons, not to mention from someone who basically amounts to an enemy.

Basically Shadow got yoinked by Black Arms a bit earlier than expected.
