    Summary

There are risks. Practical risks, like flammable items becoming damaged or their literal treehouse burning down. And indirect risks, like what if they’re wrong about him being a nobody? What if the little kidnappee is important enough for someone to go looking for him? It’s one thing to weigh the life of a firebender. It’s another thing entirely to consider risking the lives of your team for the bender in question. If taking a risk for a stranger, much less a fire stranger is what does them in in the end, Jet will never forgive himself.

    Summary

Zuko encounters the destruction his nation has caused head-on, causing him to abandon his mission to capture the Avatar early. To uplift him, he learns the ways of the original firebending masters, becomes a humble tea server, and lives neutrally on Kyoshi Island.

    All under the name Lee.

When the Avatar comes back from seemingly nowhere, Zuko must realize that hiding from his destiny was never going to stop him from finding his full potential.

What if Zuko had been banished but Iroh wasn't there to go with him? What if Zuko was alone from the beginning, left to fend for himself and try and capture the Avatar all on his own? And how would that change his story and the stories of those around him?
