Look, Spider could handle the Metakayina. He could handle the whispers of curses, the looks of fear in their eyes at just the sight of him. The way the literal warriors would grip their spears whenever he cracked his neck or knuckles. He could handle the way the kids would cover their hair with sand and chase each other around, pretending to be the monster they were so sure he was. He could handle it, even though it hurt. It really, really hurt.
