“Is it fast, because I have two patients who are getting pretty antsy with me,” he asks her.
They’re not on the best of terms, but they work together fine. Now they have a common interest. “I don’t know if it was just a faulty reading, or a—a fluke, or what, but King’s in with a kid right now who’s really anxious, so she was demonstrating some of the workup—”
“I said fast, Santos,” he says, concern catching in his brow at the mention of Mel’s name.
“Her pulse ox was 92.” She has to swallow back… something. Nervousness, maybe. Concern if she were to convince herself she cared that much. “When she demonstrated the pulse oximeter, her pulse ox was 92.”
Mel struggles to eat; the others notice. No one's loud about it, but no one has to be.

Armin once had a stuffed rabbit. Long ago when the walls rose high above his small frame and his grandfather was still alive. An ugly thing, made out of discarded socks stitched together by a mother Armin doesn’t remember. He was soft though, and Armin would carry him everywhere with him. Setting him in the tiny garden his grandfather had managed to cultivate. Playing pretend that the stocks of hollyhock and the sticky sweet lavender were trees, and his rabbit was free.

Short vignettes inspired by an observation I once saw that the beginning of season 3 is basically Levi being a dad to a cabin full of rowdy teenagers.
These aren’t necessarily in order. May get a bit silly at times, cause those 104th kids are kinda rambunctious. May also get angsty at times, cause those kids have seen some shit.
