Summary
“You’re dressed for snow, but I haven’t seen you outside,” said the instructor by way of greeting. Carol took note of the accent, couldn’t quite place it.
“Have you been watching me?” God, she hoped there wasn’t a wedge of fry stuck in her teeth somewhere.
“I know pretty much everyone who walks through these doors. You’re not one of them.”
“So you have been watching me.”
The instructor’s smile turned bashful. It plucked at something within Carol. “Only because I had thought you were waiting for a class, or for a friend. Was I wrong?”
Carol said, “I’m here for the scenery.”
OR
In which Carol, still grieving Helen, finds herself at Angel Fire Ski Resort and making a connection with someone completely unexpected: Zosia, the ski instructor, who just so happens to be a former Olympic skier.

Summary
“I didn’t keep most of the memories. Other people’s memories. I get flashes of big things, births, deaths. Except about you.”
Carol feels the confusion slip onto her face. Nervousness creeps up her spine again. “Me?”
“I know everything that anybody has ever thought about you, Carol. Every memory. Every feeling. Helen. Your ex-girlfriends. Your dentist. It’s like I have a Carol encyclopedia in my head.”
Carol had thought that she was done experiencing fresh horrors. What a nightmare it is to realize that she is not. “Oh, god.” She says.
“Oh, god,” Zosia agrees.
After they manage to break Zosia free of the hive, Zosia and Carol try to navigate the field of landmines that is their relationship.

Summary
Carol drew near and loomed over the unresisting woman. Zosia’s eyes, delicate and expectant, looked up at her. She looked tall from down here. Imposing, even. It was apt for a personality as big as hers. The world shrank under the weight of it.
“Zosia,” Carol said. Slow, like she was pronouncing it for the first time. “Do you know that you’re pretty?”

Summary
Just a slow burn Bartender AU
Carol Sturka is a sad (possibly pathetic), usually drunk, grumpy 53 year old author. She spends 4-7 days a week hanging out at the local lesbian bar ‘The Hunnycomb’. Where she flirts, drinks and crushes hard… on the Bartender.
Zosia Wydra is that bartender. A ex model that is all smiles, hopelessly in love with Carol, and absolutely terrified of loosing a friendship. To make matters worse, she promised her best friend (Koumba) that she’d bring Carol as her date, but problem is… they aren’t together… yet.
Can they get their act together and finally go after what they want? Or will Carol’s insecurities from her past get in her way? Will Zosia finally takes what she wants?
