Max Verstappen has made a name for himself in the F1 world after his first three years on the grid. For some it is in a shining light, for others it is in an aggressive and dangerous way. After his past has slowly come to light, those on the grid are now starting to see the cracks in this boy, and they will do whatever they can to prove that they care and are willing to help. He blinks on the ground past where his head throbs with a headache he doesn’t know the origin of.
He’s struggling to sit up, struggling to recall the past however long he’s been laying here, struggling to know his own name, when his slightly blurry eyes land on a redheaded man with a colossally broken nose who stares at him.
The other man looks very worried. About him? For him? Something he did?
He doesn’t know.
The redheaded man starts to step toward him for no apparent reason.
He crawls backward painfully on sore hands, trying to remember anything.
The redheaded man is still staring at him, that concern from earlier not having dissipated yet. “Hey, you back?”
He doesn’t know what or where he’s supposed to be back from, so he doesn’t say anything. He just stares up at the stranger, trying to place anything about the situation.
What is the situation, anyway —?Or,
Kaz loses his memory. Nikolai and his other friends try to help him get it back.

Brock groaned and tapped his stick against the ice. “No man, you don’t get it. He’s been standing like that since we got on the ice.”
Boldy frowned and finally tore his focus away from the puck. “What the fuck are you talking about? Dude, he’s literally fine—”
Just then, Boldy chose to turn around full to watch Hughes full body flinch so hard that his eyes rolled back in his head.

Clairvoyant.
A person who claims they can see spirits or ghosts, also known as mediums or psychics. Or sensitive, as Quinn Hughes had heard being used to describe him multiple times when he was younger.
It wasn’t meant to be an insult; it was just the easiest way to explain why he was claiming to see things, or people, that weren’t there. Especially when the excuse of him being a toddler didn’t pass anymore. So, it was a childhood full of hearing:
“I’m sorry. Quinn’s just a bit sensitive.”
“Quinn, you’re just being sensitive. There’s nothing there.”
Or whatever other phrasing his parents could use to explain why their oldest son was crying about seeing ghosts.
