This is a WHAT IF SCENARIO. No details of this AU are canon, nor necessarily headcanon. This is just a blank universe for me to experiment with scenarios that would not otherwise happen within the bounds of canon.
The Armed Detective Agency is dead. Gone. Killed in an act of arson by some unknown grudge holder. Everyone... But Dazai.

"Ring around the rosie... "
Muffled voices wormed their way into Dazai's mind, sluggishly yet persistently cutting through the uncanny ringing in his ears. The only clear sound--
"A pocket full of posies... "
It was unnerving, especially in his current state. He shifted, trying to cover his ears, but whimpered in agony as his burns screamed. Leave me alone, he thought to himself. Chuuya, stop that singing. He coughed, ash coating his raw throat.
"Oh my gosh, he's alive!" A woman's voice pierced through the ringing, and Dazai was faintly aware of gentle hands brushing his forehead.

“I’m right here, you idiot. Can you calm down for one fucking second? God, you’re insufferable…” the redhead grumbled...
(or: Chuuya wakes up to a cryptic text from Dazai and has to find out what the bastard is up to now. After dealing with the initial problem, he appears at his door and seems different. Chuuya has to figure out what had happened to make his partner's behaviour change so much.)

The three of them met Fukuzawa after that assassination attempt to the President of S&K Corporation..
What if.. they ended up being the second, third and fourth members of The Armed Detective Agency~?

Following Odasaku's death, Osamu decides to listen to his dear friend's dying words—"Be on the side that saves people".

Chuuya, the boy who sacrificed his life for his friends, even when they betrayed him. Chuuya, the boy who stayed loyal to the very system that destroyed him.
Together, they run away from the Port Mafia and begin the long journey of redemption, living hidden away in the shadows.

Summary
Oda Sakunosuke died to a bullet hole in the chest after a drawn-out fight with the murderer of his adopted children. His body was taken by the Port Mafia for examination, and his funeral was held, attended, and funded by one person months later. His death wasn't grieved by many, and even fewer remembered his name in the following years. It was just another example of an unimportant member of the Port Mafia dying on the job.
Or, that was the official story, anyway.

The hyper-specific alternative universe where Oda lives I have been craving for ACTUAL YEARS
I know there are technically a lot of fics of these two, but a large amount (in my opinion) are somewhat lacking in what I personally want in a piece -- or mischaracterize one, if not both of them. (Not that I mind mischaracterization all the time, or making a character into your own, just that they usually make Dazai extremely tropey or Oda not written in what I feel to be a very believable manner)/the fic is utterly FANTASTIC but super short/abandoned...So? I hereby throw my hat in the ring!

Summary
Without even realizing it—with the world still a conglomeration of swirling color and too-distant sounds—Dazai stumbled his way into the middle of oncoming traffic, right at the heart of Yokohama.
He didn't register the sound of someone screaming his name. Didn't hear the blaring horns, terrified screaming, or screeching tires of swerving cars. Couldn't see the flashing lights or the people across the street, some turning away to avoid the scene while others looked on with growing horror, unable to tear their eyes away from inevitable tragedy.

Summary
When a little girl had to be saved by Sukouku and yosano because of her ability, she was promised having a friend her age, not grown ups. Not to be rude, grown ups are cool, and they took her from the polititians that wanted Liang to see them as "family" and got angry when she didn't. So she's happy to be safe, but still... Liang never would've thought that sukouku were in love with each other, much less that the affected one had a double indentity nor that she would've make trouble to the short redhead.
All by Liang turning his "partner" by accident, into a kid too, only because she wanted a playdate with chuuya's soulmate! Now Dazai Osamu is the new toddler. Literally. Chuuya, along with some mafia members like akutagawa and kouyou, and the ADA are the caretakers of these two gremlins. Kunikida is developing more grey hairs. Shin sukouku are learning more about their mentor than they thought they ever wanted; The gossip trio is missing their little brother. Fukuzawa is exhausted of protecting mini dazai from an excited Mori, working with hirotsu, who somehow is one of the few people baby dazai seem at ease with.
Also, Dazai's biological family appears, and they're not Dazais as common believe appears too.Bookmarked by Loraphine
