The fluff and angst are absolutely exquisite and it's just as spectacular as the first time!

These boys are too much sometimes, but I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them.

Oh, god. *Wipes tears. Sniffles. Takes Deep breaths.* I feel like I can not put into words the enormity of feelings this story evokes in me. It has left me a broken hearted, bawling mess and I would not have it any other way. This story is underrated and it definitely deserves more love and exposure. It made these characters that I love so very human when they are predominately portrayed as supernatural characters. Much love to the author for creating such a beautiful masterpiece.
November 2021: This is my 3rd or 4th time reading this story and no matter how many times I read it, I always feel like it’s the first time I’m getting my heart torn out of my chest, in strangely the best way.
December 2022: Every time I need a good cathartic cry this is my go to story. In my opinion it is the best at giving a gut punch of emotion in a concise and straight forward manner. This is a beautifully bittersweet story that I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of reading.

I didn’t realize it had been so long since I last read this. There is a chance that I read this somewhere between now and the last time I read this and just didn’t write anything about it. Either way it’s still just as amazing as the first time. I look forward to the next time. -

Summary
In 1945 Steve Rogers crashed the Valkyrie into the Arctic Ocean and was never recovered.
In 2019 Bucky Barnes is walking along the beach below the decommissioned lighthouse where he lives with his sixteen month old daughter when he finds the body of a man washed up in the surf, half frozen but miraculously alive.
Bucky manages to revive him, but finds that the stranger has no memory of who he is or how he got here aside from a name: Steve. Snowed in by a blizzard soon after and unable to get Steve a medevac, Bucky discovers that the funny, good-hearted man slips into the fabric of his and Alice’s life faster than he would have thought possible. The two are undeniably drawn to each other, but as their feelings grow so does the looming possibility that the answer to the question “who is Steve?” might be much more complicated than either of them realized.

I happy cried because that cup of tea was the perfect ending!
2/5/2026
I just finished reading it again and even though I took a really long break in between most of the story and the last three chapters, it still had me enthralled and emotional. Although this time I didn’t cry at the ending.
