“What would you say to him?” Always, it was Fingolfin who started it, of course. “If he came back.”
“Which he would not,” said Finarfin. It was a little dance they did to introduce the subject, to make sure that it was clear.Or, in their free time, Fingolfin and Finarfin like to hypothesize.

Summary
He turned to find a pair of kittens, one white with black socks and the other black with white-tipped ears, chasing a piece of string around as an elf dragged it across the flagstones. He sat cross-legged on the ground, rather than on the bench beside him; when he looked up his eyes were bright, and his smile was easy. “Good afternoon!” he said. “You must be Master Samwise. Are you lost?”
“I beg your pardon!” Sam said, hurriedly bowing. “I seem to have gotten turned around somewhere.”
Sam meets Maglor, first in Rivendell and again in Minas Tirith.

As Faramir takes up his duties and prepares for the King's return, those around him quietly care for him. A later chapter in this story will include that kiss on the wall—how could it not?
This story is a companion piece for “Of Claim and Councils”, though each story can be read separately.

Summary
Éowyn and Faramir both awaken in the Houses of Healing, following the Battle of Pelennor Fields. Faramir faces an uncertain future as the new Steward of Gondor, and he struggles to confront his losses. Meanwhile, Éowyn is dismayed that she did not meet the end in battle that she desired, and struggles to see prospects for herself beyond death as a soldier. By chance, the two of them are drawn together. Will they find hope and healing in one another? How will they build a life and love together from the ruins of war and the crumbling of an age?
This is a detailed gap-filler & book-canon compliant story, detailing how Éowyn and Faramir built their relationship together in the Houses of Healing and beyond, into the Fourth Age. It is intended to be a slow burn with copious characterization, eventual romance, and context-appropriate spice.
The story is in-progress as of March 2026. Thank you for your patience with the slower updates during my PhD graduation. I am done now and continuing to write this consistently. Just an FYI that even if progress is slow, I will not abandon this fic ever. I will update this description and mark complete when finished.

Summary
On a sunny day in spring, Frodo got the urge to go north and west, up into Arnor, which was still quite wild and uninhabited outside of newly-built Annúminas, and the slow trickle of work happening around the ruins of Fornost, which even the Dúnedain were still sometimes reluctant to visit. When he spoke of his plan, his dad told him to remember to pack enough food and not to forget a bit of rope, and his mother said not to forget his cloak. Most of his siblings were too young yet to be permitted to go along, but Elanor immediately asked if he wanted company.

Summary
Fëanor did not know how to explain the ill-defined uneasiness and the almost instinctual dislike he felt, how impossible it was to reconcile the impression he had gotten from the tapestry in Mandos to the reality of Daeron in person, in life. “He seems careless,” he said, because he did not know how else to explain.
“That is certainly not true,” said Nerdanel, “though I know well that I cannot expect you to take my word for it. It is long since you placed any trust in anyone’s judgment aside from your own, flawed though it is.”
Midwinter is meant to be a time of feasting and merriment, but Fëanor does not find it so, especially with Daeron of Doriath in attendance.

Their little band of conspirators was rich with loyalty and stout hearts, but Merry had been the one to make the preparations, to list out and discreetly purchase supplies and provisions; he was the one who had lain awake in his bed night after night in the months leading up to Frodo's departure from Bag End, making sure he hadn't forgotten anything that would be wanted.
All his meticulous planning was being dismantled piece by piece in front of him. There was a stranger in their company. And he could not scrub the feeling of evil hands from his skin.

Bookmarker's Notes
If your relationship issues stem from a profound disagreement on the nature of fate and free will, then you’re Finrod.
Brilliantly written, lots of heavy dialogue, I love Finrod’s post-reembodiment POV - poor guy is disoriented and has an existential crisis, but is not woobified at all. His self-command is perhaps too good, because it took Amarië quite a long time to realize she should Tread More Carefully. She is as strong headed as as he is, after all. Love them both. 100/100, go read it.

A delightful spy adventure from the Golden Age of Narnia. Ranging from light and witty to melancholy and serious, it offers the world of Tashbaan as seen through a Monkey’s eyes. A gapfiller for A Horse and his Boy, of sorts. Definitely recommended!

Summary
Sense had been coming to Darth Vader for quite a long time...years, in fact. But, trapped in a cumbersome life-support suit without a friend in the world, under the thumb of the most powerful man in the galaxy- Vader saw no way out of his situation. He'd made his bed, so he must lie in it, however awful of a bed it was.
Or so he'd thought. Several years into his own personal hell, he'd woken up one day and realized that the children who Sidious had taken from the Jedi temple- taken and kept alive as the only Force-sensitives left- were dying. Pushed to their limits, they'd begun to break under the pressure of becoming Inquisitors. Now, due to Sidious's abuse, there were only three of them left.Vader did the only thing he could do. Taking the children with him, he fled the Empire. He went back to his old Master, a man he knew to be a doctor and a healer- the best healer left in the galaxy, perhaps. He planned to bargain with his own life, asking the Jedi Healer to save the dying children in exchange.
He went back to Obi-Wan Kenobi.- Language:
