And so came it to pass that Durin the Deathless, First of Dwarrow-kind, the Eldest of the Seven Fathers, King of Khazad-dûm, found himself unrelentingly bound to a small chunk of blue stone pocketed by one Belladonna Took on her journey home from a well accomplished adventure.
Years, and multiple adventures later, Belladonna Took – by then Belladonna Baggins – settled into Bag End, and gave birth to a child named Bilbo Baggins, to whom this stone was always meant to belong.
It is with this one small Hobbit that the ghostly Durin is to change the tides of Middle Earth, save his legacy, and rewrite this unwritten history before them.
Additionally/And/Or: In which Durin the Deathless does not accept the finality of his lineage and submits his complaints to Mahal and Yavanna.
Becoming glued to a rock and a Hobbit was not part of his request, but he was Too Vague and forgot to Read the Fine Print.
Also, Hobbits are far too endearing even to Ancient Mostly Dead Monarchs.
Finally, and most importantly, to any Dwarf asking, it isn't technically breaking any rules if the ghost beside you works as a translator for super secret Dwarvish languages.

This is excellently written. I am on chapter 40 and it is a bit long so I believe that I shall finish it later but I enjoyed reading it. Very canon compliant until later chapters.

Summary
Arthur Pendragon and Merlin were literally from two different worlds. One is a prince from a great kingdom and the other a common farm boy from the next kingdom over. These two should have never met.
But that was before they realized their parents were once friends and arranged the two of them to marry when they reached adulthood. That was before Uther turned on magic and Hunith went on the run with her infant son.
Now almost twenty years have passed and these two boys have grown into men. Camelot knights have found Hunith and come to collect her son.
Will Merlin survive this new world he has been thrusted into? A peasant among royals, a sorcerer among those that would have him killed if they found out. Can Merlin even begin to hope for happiness when the prince he is forced to marry wants nothing to do with him?

Chapter 18. This is genuinely some of the best writing I have ever come across. I mean, it is not easy to write something this long and manage to make it compelling the whole way through. So far it is killing me that they don't like each other yet even though I am appreciating the slow burn. I just want these idiots to be in love. As good as it is, I literally do not have the attention span for this whole thing in one go, so I'll be reading this a few chapters at a time. Seriously though, this fic is absolutely insane.
