Summary: lucy was emotionally, psychologically and sexualy (her step father) abused but bother parents as a child and enters a relationship thats abusive on all four fronts, she has a severe eating disorder and has come into work multiple times with bruises and such but only tim noticed. Dean(the now abusive ex) has almost killed her multiple times including having waterboarded her which led her to have secondary drowning. She's a few weeks into her rookie year and has been stabbed by her step dad for leaving Dean (her abusive ex). The entire mid-wilshire police department has been trying to figure out what happened whilst lucy was under deep sedation and have questioned Dean but now that shes awake tim and grey are on there way to get a statement from her. Also tim and Jackson are her emergency contact numbersLast few paragraphs:
Tim nodded, already heading toward the door, feeling the urgent need to move, to see her, to confirm the truth of the nurse’s words.
Angela stepped forward, grabbing his shoulder once more, this time in shared excitement. “Go. Get the truth. I’ll keep Dean warm. He’s enjoying being smug right now—let’s see how he likes it when we walk back in here with a name and a warrant signed based on Lucy’s testimony.”
“We’ll be fast,” Tim promised.
He didn't wait for Grey to join him; he was already out the door and running toward the shop, the hopeful realization settling over him: Lucy was alive. She was awake. He was going to hear her voice again, and this time, he wouldn't tell her to stop rambling. He'd just listen. -

Summary: spencer gets put into hotches custody as hes going through a gifted kids program. The government told hotch spencer was 12, hes not he 9. He very rarely speaks sleeps and eats. Spencers education is threatened (if he didnt pass his exams to get a doctorate with flying colours he'd be kicked out of the programme) and is now in hospital due to sever burn out.Last few paragraphs:
Rossi put a steady hand on his shoulder. “You didn’t know. You thought he was older. If anyone is at gault here its the damn program for lying about his age. For making him do so much work so quickly just so can continue to go to school. You're doing your best Aaron and that's all that kid could ask for.”Hotch shook his head. “My best wasn’t enough.”
They stood in silence, watching the boy behind the glass.
Small. Still. And so heartbreakingly tired.

She still felt guilty when she saw the scars across his face and the way he still struggled walking for any length of time, but she was proud of the boy he had become. Spencer was kind, intelligent, funny and caring. He worked hard at everything and valued other people as much as he valued himself, if not more. He was the exact opposite of his father, and she couldn’t be happier about that.That evening, the pair of them laid in her bed cuddled in a pile of blankets, books piled around them. Diana’s voice drifted through the room making Sandy smile as she crocheted in the corner. Eventually, after an hour of reading, mother and son fell asleep. Sandy pulled out her phone and sent a photo to Alex.
‘All is good here, your baby is happy.’

When Aaron Hotchner receives a phone call at midnight from a lawyer he crossed paths with in the past, he wasn't expecting to end up temporary guardian of a seven year old, especially not a seven year old with reported behavioural issues. But the more time he spends with Spencer, the more he wonders if what Spencer's father said about him was wrong.

Summary: Spencer gets sent to stay with hotch while his dad is on a work trip, Spencer is trying follow rules, but Hotch doesn't know what rules Spencer is playing by. Derek and Penelope babysit Spencer and have some concerns. Penelope is determined to get to the truth. Garcia and Hotch chat about Spencer's past, Spencer visits the BAU and is recognised... Katie explains her reaction to seeing Spencer, then talks with Spencer. JJ comes round with some space books for Spencer to look at and Hotch finds some things in the attic that he thinks Spencer will enjoy looking at. Spencer meets with Katie again, this time with a therapist listening in. Hotch tells Spencer that he can get medical help, see the dentist and the optician. He doesn't expect to end up in the hospital that afternoon! Hotch is waiting for Spencer to return from surgery. Spencer wakes up and is more coherent. Disturbing revelations are made about his past. Spencer starts calling hotch dad. Spencer is disharged from the hospital and is given a new toy to play with while he's recovering.Last paragraphs:
“No. One of the books JJ got was about a boy called Ben having a birthday party. He was given presents and after the party he wrote thank you cards to everyone. So I thought that was the right thing to do.”
Penelope gave him a hug, “It’s definitely a nice thing to do. And I’m sure everyone else will be delighted with their cards. And if not I’ll switch their coffee to decaf!”
Spencer laughed, having spent time with Rossi, he was now nothing short of a coffee connoisseur and knew what a crime that would be.
