Summary
Minutes ticked by in the small studio apartment at the Hazbin Hotel.
Pupils dilated, but still not high enough despite the excessive amount of substances taken, Angel sat on the floor at the foot of his bed. He couldn’t bring himself to be seated on a plush surface, too uncomfortable within himself to feel deserving of it.
Angel is drowning in drugs and isolation, but finds solace in the company of a bartender.

Summary
As if made of molasses, Angel trudged through the blur of blinding colors to the hotel. It had been another long shoot, having to redo scenes and being high enough to forget the tasteless script. Valentino had been feeling especially wrathful that day, and took it out on everyone in the studio. Angel was his favorite toy, and his favorite to break, so he took the majority of the abuse. Drunk and high all day, being passed around and defiled in every way, and then having to answer to the rings on Valentino’s hand exhausted him.
The production studio didn’t feel like an actual home, but was a familiar place where he spent most of his time. He had counted the cracks in the walls, the blood splatters on the ceiling. The hotel was a home away from home. It was a place where he could escape for a while, even though he had to hide the highs in his bedroom. Drinking at the bar was alright enough, and he enjoyed the company of Husk and the annoyance at his flirtations. It certainly felt less cold than being with his pimp.
Two self-proclaimed losers realize Hell is not as lonely as they first thought.

DISCLAIMER: This fic was written in the interim period between the pilot being posted in 2019 and the cast announcement in October 2023. Henry as a character is a creation of our own and is therefor portrayed as he is. We recognize that with the casting of Keith David, this portrayal is probably not true to canon. We worked with the information we had at the time and hope that you can read and enjoy this fic given the context in which it was created.
