Steve had read the text too many times to count, as well as another that had come in a few seconds later: You’re not in trouble :). Which meant Bucky just wanted to play, and Steve was willing to indulge in that. But the bath brush? When he wasn’t even in trouble? That just wasn’t fair.
Sure, he could negotiate properly. He could have a conversation with Bucky about it, who would probably be very understanding and kind and give him exactly what he wanted. But Steve had a better idea, one that would kill two birds with one stone: keep Bucky from using the bath brush and make it so he couldn’t use it again for a while. And that seemed like a much better plan, and it wouldn’t mess up Bucky’s scene.
