“To be fair we’ve lived off of worms and algae most our lives so eating bugs isn’t a big deal.” Donni explained, reaching over to snag a beetle from his brother’s bowl before he could be slapped away.
April paused a moment, thinking over that statement very intensely. Living in the sewars you whole life and never once going above ground, food had to be very scares. They probably had to make do with what they could find most of the time, which unfortunately, for April at least, were mainly bugs. In one of her late-night research binges April had briefly read over box turtle’s diet but hadn’t thought of it as something that would apply to her turtles considering they were a lot more human like than most normal turtles. She vaguely recalled reading something about box turtles eating snails and certain types of fungi, so perhaps this was all very normal after all.
Still didn’t mean it wasn’t totally gross.
