She found herself clutching onto the faint hope that he might have somehow survived the blaze, even though deep down she knew it was impossible. Each step she took away from the ballroom felt heavier, knowing that Michael might be gone forever. The thought that she would never hear his voice again, or see his smile, was a weight she wasn't ready to bear.
The weather turned ugly; frenzied rain fell from the heavens, but did little to help cleanse the fire in the process. Her once gorgeous dress -now ruined with muck and torn- dragged behind her, hair disheveled from rolling onto the grass. She hated this, hated how everything she loved got taken away from her in a matter of seconds.

“No one here to save you now Theseus,” That was Adelram standing tall and proud for finally having caught the hero in training so he could bribe the hero’s. He was obviously the one speaking, though it felt like he was shouting.
His jet black wings being proudly displayed behind his back making him more scary than he should be. He was only 5’9 but compared to Ares and Hypnos, he looked tiny.
“W-wait ple- I-I’ll explain! I promise! I-I’m just a kid! p-p-please,” wait he wasn’t supposed to say that, shit, hands flying up to his mouth. Eyes going wide with fear.

Summary
The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
“Go!” Grian shouts as the monster charges, putting his whole force into the blow.
Scar watches, frozen stiff as Grian fights until blood and gore and viscera mark the creature up like a Pollock painting.
“What are you waiting for?!” Grian snaps when he finally notices that Scar is still standing there. He grips his weapon tight and attacks a final time, slamming the zombie down—good and dead—and standing panting over top of it, strained but victorious. He starts rushing from the scene, calling back for Scar over his shoulder. “Run!”
And in a way that’s as familiar to him as breathing, Scar chases after him.

I’m sorry but I’m not even finished fic but i just wanna say that chapter 21??? Genuinely devastating but if i could go back and read that for the first time again? I would. The description of their love and the confession feels so heart breakingly real (?) I’m halfway but I just wanna give a special shoutout to that chapter in particular, kudos to the authors <33

Summary
Grian has been in love with Scar for years but just can't seem to bite the bullet and confess. (Un)luckily for him, the flowers that have started blooming from his wings whenever he's around Scar are now making the topic sort of impossible to avoid. Maybe if he just hides until whatever magical force that cause the flowers to sprout gives up on him, he'll make it through this whole thing unscathed?
That's got to work, right?
