After waking up from the weird and wonderful dream she had in the library, Noelle takes a moment to think. She thinks about everything that happened in the dream and wants to see if anything in it was actually achievable. She wants to have a date with Susie, she wants to reconnect with Kris and help them out, she wants to help Berdly be less overbearing, and most of all, she wants to be able to take the action necessary to start all of that.
Then she has an idea.

Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
It's a good thing nothing like that could happen, right?

Noelle is a vampire. It's perfectly treatable - a few days under observation, a course of antivirals sent in from the big city, and she'll be her normal vegetarian self again. The only catch? If her mom finds out about this, she'll never see daylight again, vampire or not. If she wants to avoid the grounding of a lifetime, she'll have to resort to alternate methods of treatment.
Catti can help, but she warns Noelle that she'll need to feed soon, or she's risking more than just being grounded. And not just any blood will do... it has to be from a human. Can Noelle bridge the gap between her and Kris to ask for the weirdest favor of all time, or will her vampiric nature get the better of her?

Then Dess went missing. Kris went quiet. Asriel left for college. Distance grew between friends.
Dess came back. Kris started to smile again. Noelle and Kris reconnected, and together, they survived high school.
College is going to be a new challenge all its own, but at least they're in it together, right?
...Then Noelle meets her new roommate, Susie, and things get a little more complicated.

Summary
It’s a warm summer afternoon, the sky cloudless blue and the grass streaked yellow like drying paint, when you and Susie start walking together towards the edge of the world.
It’s no good to put people on pedestals. Everyone in Hometown says otherwise--that this time they’ll get it right, this time the pedestal will fit, this time the golden child will stay gold--but you’ve seen what it did to Asriel, and you’re a little tired of trophies and placards on the wall. It’d be unfair to Susie, to raise her up higher than anyone can reach when all she wants is to be around everyone.
So it’s no good to say holy things like "you’re the best person I’ve ever met" and "I want to be around you forever" and "I wish I was like you."
But when Susie sighs a breath and mutters, “Man... this town is Goddamn weird, huh?” you can’t help but laugh.
(OR: after the Roaring, the betrayals, and the Angel's ascension to Godhood, Susie sees Kris off on a summer road trip with Dess out of Hometown. Too bad there's nothing past Hometown.)
