Ivan goes to see Fortune Teller and discovers that his son is his demise. Unless he can turn Laxus against the guild, what he doesn't hear is who can prevent this.
After Laxus is forced out of the guild he gets a visit that helps him protect his family from the man who hurt them all.

He snatched away his hand making her. Then he tossed the required fee on the table. And walked away pleased that everything will go his way, though with some bumps he didn't plan for. But not being the guild master meant Laxus would take the brunt of whatever went wrong. At the same time, Ivan would be nothing more than a bystander.
What he did not hear was the fortune teller telling what could prevent such things.
