A little preamble!
This work was originally just a mini pwp fanfic. In fact, the first chapter is the initial fanfic. But then, after a few years and thanks to a comment from a reader, I pulled myself together and wrote a fic. And even then, I was planning just a collection of pwp stories. But something went wrong (or vice versa), and the work has grown considerably, and acquired a lot of characters, storylines, lore, and some geography. So the first few chapters are almost pure PWP and introductions to some of the main characters.
