“Do you even want to prove me wrong?” Aki scoffs. Angel's eyes widen slightly, like he’d been caught doing something forbidden. The air suddenly stills.
“Would it be so hopeless?” The devil finally asks, and it sounds so genuine, Aki can’t help but consider his words. To ask a man to change his values, and a devil to change his nature.
“It might be."

Summary
He didn’t respond right away, their expression unreadable. “Come on,” he said eventually, standing and brushing off his knees. “Let’s get you out of here.”
Thanos smirked, barely conscious of the decision he was about to make. In one sudden, jerking movement, he grabbed the front of their shirt and yanked them down beside him.
“What the—” He barely had time to react before he was lying next to him, staring up at the same sky. “Ow!”
“Stars are nice,” Thanos murmured, his voice oddly content as he kept his eyes trained upward.
Nam-gyu froze, his breath catching. After a beat, he gave in, relaxing into the awkwardness of the moment. They lay side by side on the pavement, the steady hum of the city drifting around them.
“You’re a real pain in the ass,” Nam-gyu muttered, though his voice lacked any true heat.
Thanos just smiled, the hint of a laugh still in his throat. “I know.”

Based on the progression we’re seeing in your brain tissue, particularly in the cerebral cortex and brainstem…”
The doctor continues speaking, but his words begin to lose their edges, slurring together into medical terminology that floats around Nam-gyu like falling snow. Strange, how the most important words of his life sound like they’re being spoken underwater, directed at someone else.
“...approximately three weeks, given the current rate of deterioration.”
Nam-gyu blinks. The doctor is looking at him expectantly, waiting for some sort of reaction to what he’s just said. Three weeks. The words finally penetrate through the fog.
“Three weeks until what?” Nam-gyu asks, though he already knows the answer.
The doctor’s expression softens slightly—professional sympathy, carefully measured.
“Until the condition reaches its terminal stage. I’m very sorry, Mr. Jang.”

Thanos’ eyes finally flicker back to life, flitting up to Nam-gyu’s. He blinks a couple times in rapidfire, like he’s regaining fucking consciousness or some shit, and his posture shifts — his shoulders rising as he opens and closes his mouth before dropping: “Do you need help?”
Nam-gyu’s not quite sure he heard him right. “The fuck did you just say?”
Or: Nam-gyu injures his wrist and can’t jerk off. Thanos offers a helping hand.

Angel presses on. "Do you want to die?"
Of course he wants to die.
He wants to die just as much as he wants to live. Just as he is now devil and human, just as Angel is both beautiful and monstrous. Aki swallows the smoke and it kills him a little, just as it makes life a little more liveable in return. That's how it's been for most of his life.
"That's not what this is about," he says simply, unable to explain it.
Alive, Aki has survived by selling away his heart. Alive, Angel's memories have come back along with guilt. They find solace and understanding in the only person who sees them for what they are.

“What about you?” Thanos chuckles beside him, reaching around for his own glass of soju and gingerly taking a swig. Sighing, he puts it back and crosses his arms, pulling at a frayed thread on the sleeve of his yellow sweatshirt and grinning back at him. It’s an ugly color. “Got anyone you’d take out, my boy?”
It’s clearly meant to be taken as sort of a joke, but the way Nam-gyu’s eyes shine with intense understanding afterwards betrays that he feels the exact opposite. Pushing himself forward on the palms of his hands, he leans forward, a smile pulling at his features. It's sick the way excitement bubbles up his throat and threatens to spill out with every word spoken. He thinks he wouldn't have it any other way.
“I think I have a good idea on how to handle them.”
A brutal narrative following Thanos and Nam-gyu's post-game plans to murder everyone who has ever wronged them and get away with it.
