“What? Hollander too scared to face me?” Ilya chirps, because if he goes another minute without at least mentioning the man that has been consuming his every thought for two weeks he might go insane. He needs someone else to acknowledge his existence, his absence, to fucking tell him what’s going on so he can finally get it off his mind. It’s just a stupid mystery. That’s why it bugs him.
And then Hayden Pike looks up. Dark bruised circles under his eyes, face pale like a sheet, eyes red rimmed and puffy like he has been crying all day. The face of a man mourning.
Ilya feels like the ice might crack under him. Something’s wrong with Shane.

Sanji flushed and snaked a free hand to the back of his neck, “I mean- I just. I know about them so of course I’ve considered it before.”
“There’s no shame in sharing or knowing love languages,” Robin pointed out, falling back into her educational tone, “In fact the villagers here encourage sharing and understanding their loved ones languages in order to better support and attend to each other's needs.”
“Oh,” Nami breathed, “That’s quite sweet, actually.”
“So you’ve been using this to your advantage?” Zoro directed his question at Sanji, his tone laced with accusation.
Surprisingly, Sanji didn’t rise to the bait, and instead started laughing outright. Zoro hoped the glow from the fire hid the way he felt the tips of his ears heat up.
“Only you, Zoro,” He continued, still laughing but his tone fond, “would take the concept of love languages and translate it into battle tactics.”

Summary
Ilya wakes up confused. He’s pretty sure he fell asleep at home, in bed, with Shane fast asleep in his arms, but he wakes up on a flat surface with a pinch in his lower back. Had he fallen off the bed in the middle of the night? Neither he nor Shane move much in their sleep, but he supposes it isn’t impossible.
He levers himself up on one hand, stretching out his back slightly as he sits up. He’s definitely not in his bedroom anymore. The room he’s in is large and full of bulky hockey players spread out across the floor. Their soft groans and quiet questions begin to filter in his ears as they wake up as well. He sees some players he knows are on the Voyageurs, some of his own teammates, some coaching staff, and even some WAGs like Jackie Pike and Cassie Boodram. But the most important person in the room is laid out next to him, face slack and peaceful with sleep.
“Shane,” Ilya urges, shaking him. “Shane, wake up.”

Summary
Ilya was quiet for a long moment. "I'm scared I'm going to end up like my mother."
Ilya is struggling while Shane is on the road with the Metros, and the distance, combined with a brutal depressive episode, leaves Ilya spiralling. When everything becomes too much and the intrusive thoughts won't stop, Ilya takes Anya for a walk - and somehow ends up at Shane's parents' house.

Such a sweetheart. Ilya does it. He’s not in much of a position to be saying no to Shane, and probably won’t be for the rest of their lives. Hey, remember that time I had to bail you out of jail? Yes, Shane.
