His youngest brother is supposed to be away this weekend with his boyfriend, but this entire situation reeks of Lambert’s exact sense of humor. Geralt is suddenly quite sure there’s a whipped cream pie to the face waiting at the end of wherever his neighbor is leading him with this conversation.
“You can’t just hit it with a shoe?”
That makes the man inhale sharply and press a hand to his chest, like a church matron clutching her pearls. “The spider is an animal, but I most certainly am not! I am not trying to banish the little beast from the mortal coil. I am simply trying to evict him from the previously-spiderless sanctuary of my home.”

Merlin wakes up in Ismere with no memory of who he is after Morgana knocks him out. The Diomare calls him Emrys and, believing that is his name, and that he is a dragon lord, he calls. He's surprised when two show up, healing one, while giving the other a shock.
He's dropped off at an abandoned house where he precedes to make a life for himself. He ends up with more than he bargained for when a woman shows up begging him to take her magical children in. It keeps happening and before he knows it he has six children relying on him and looking up to him.
Along the way, knights pass by on patrol and quickly identify his new home as a sanctuary and take rest there on occasion while passing through.
