Summary
Akaashi had probably just turned nineteen when he learnt about the concept of homunculi. The little people in oneself that represents the proportional motor and sensory distribution along the cerebral cortex.
Bizarre as they were, they are fitting caricatures; sensation and action at their purest sense were uninhibited. They mapped the topography of his self-perception in his brain, lurking in hills of its gyri and the valleys of the sulci.
They existed as this authoritative voice that grew louder and louder in Akaashi’s mind with each passing year since beginning medical school.
His homunculi were beings likely as ugly as the words they spoke to him, and as he felt in this moment.

The apple left Akaashi’s hand with startling force.
Thunk.
It hit the wall hard enough to split the apple, pieces dropping to the hardwood floor with a wet sound. The impact echoed through the house like a gunshot.
Silence.
“Holy shit,” Komi breathed, eyes wide. “That was—”
Another apple sailed through the air. Konoha ducked with a yelp.
“Evacuate! He’s armed!” came Bokuto’s whisper-yell. He stepped in as Akaashi reached for another fruit, placing himself between the sleeping boy and the counter. He held his hands up placatingly, like he was approaching a wild animal. “Your kitchen privileges are officially revoked, buddy.”

Summary
Akaashi and Bokuto remain friends after high school. But Bokuto is a professional athlete and Akaashi is just a regular college student and salaryman. It's only a matter of time, Akaashi thinks, for adult life to eventually get in the way and change their friendship.
Until Akaashi comes out, and maybe things do change, but not in the way he expected.

Keiji studies the hands still fidgeting in his lap. “I, uh… I’ve never actually hooked up with someone before. I’m not sure I understand the… protocol.”
“You could practice with me.”
“Sorry?” His head snaps up. His posture straightens. He waits for the moment when Bokuto’s serious expression breaks and they can both joke about the prospect of the two of them sleeping together as nothing more than that: a joke.
It never comes.
Convinced the reason his relationships don’t last is because of his performance in bed, Akaashi Keiji accidentally enlists his roommate to help him “improve” his skills. Completely platonically, of course.

Summary
Bokuto waited to graduate before confessing to Akaashi. There was a small part of him that planned it that way because they wouldn’t have to constantly see each other if he got his ass rejected. The larger reason for doing it at his graduation was that he could lock down the man of his dreams so people wouldn’t make any moves on him during the year they were apart before Akaashi joined him in college.
Unfortunately, most people did not get the memo that they were very much in love and committed to each other.
