Summary
Zuko realizes a few years earlier that the avatar hunt was just a reason to get him away, away from the fire loard, away from the palace, and away from the fire nation.
And so he travels, travels with his uncle in the Earth Kingdom as a traveling tea shop that sets up here and there until they move to the next place. But suddenly they get separated, but they both promise to find each other in Gaoling within a few months.
As Zuko tries to stay low, he meets an earthbending girl who proclaims herself to be the best earthbender in the world. Despite being like, eleven. And so, they stick together, and continue to stick together even when Iroh comes back, and only stop sticking together when Iroh tells Zuko that he has a place he wants to show him. But as they say that their last stop will be in ba sing see, the girl mentions that her family has a vacation house there, and that they'll meet again.
And so when Toph is in Ba Sing Se with the Gaang, why shouldn't she try to find them again? Besides, the tea shop in the middle ring called the Jasmine Dragon sounds very familiar.

Summary
Back when the Virtues were falling and transforming into beats, Shadow Milk found himself plagued with a deep sense of loniness. All his former friends, the beasts, were slipping away from him and their motley crew was falling to pieces.
He couldn't stand idly by and let that happen so he decided the best way to bring them all back together was to introduce a few bundles of baby dough into their lives, making them come together as one big twisted family.
The mixture was prepared and the oven was heated but Shadow Milk never got a chance to bake their sons and daughters thanks to the machinations of Silent Salt and Dark Enchantress Cookie, leaving his plans and his family lost to time.
Until those very same children resurface countless years later, totally unaware of their origins. Fortunately their uncle Shadow Milk, recently freed from the prison of the Silver Tree, is more than happy to arrange a few family reunions!
