Summary

Could fuck them deep and steady, ease the ache without the risk of locking inside, without the possibility of pregnancy. Biology that had always been a barrier with an Alpha was suddenly an open door.

Theo swallowed hard, forcing the words out evenly. “Yeah. I’m fine.”

He closed his eyes. “Nothing’s wrong,” he said, lying through his teeth. His voice was steady enough, he hoped. “You know I love you, right?”
There was silence on the other end. Just static and breathing. Then Stiles’s voice came back, sharper, worried. “Theo, what are you doing?”
Theo’s grip tightened on the phone. “Watching the stars.”

Theo stopped dead, hand on the truck door. He turned his head just enough to glare over his shoulder. “Yeah, I know the damn condition.”
“Then you know what happens next,” Scott said quietly. “We have to send you back.”
Theo’s jaw clenched. His claws weren’t out, but the tension in his shoulders said they wanted to be. “You have no idea what happened out there.”
Stiles crossed his arms, still shaking from the cold, trying to bite back the bitter taste in his mouth. “Oh, I think we do. Eight wendigos dead. That’s the whole story.”
Theo spun, voice raw. “You weren’t the one being torn at from every direction! You weren’t—” He caught himself, chest rising and falling fast, then jabbed a finger toward Scott. “How about you ask your emissary what he would’ve done, huh? Ask the vet. Ask Deaton what he would’ve done surrounded by eight feral wendigos while trying to protect a useless. Fucking. HUMAN!”

Theo let out a low growl of annoyance. He was reluctantly impressed. It had been a while since anyone got the drop on him like that. Usually he felt the shift in the air or the change in scent or the wrongness of a touch before anything happened. But this guy had slipped right under his radar.
Too bad a regular roofie wouldn’t do much to him. At worst it would give him a headache and make him cranky. Theo lifted the glass again and drank anyway. He could always seek the man out later and kill him. No need to make a big deal about it here.
