Summary
On the eighth day following the fourth Jeju Island raid, a package is brought to his house, where he’s been spending those days resting (his healers and healing factor handled most physical injuries; it’s mostly mental recovery at this point). It isn't large, but it’s sizable, simple.
He knows before he opens it what it is. He’s not being kept up to date much on the events that had been following the raid, save what’s been necessary to mention. . .
One of the things he knows for a fact is that Byung-Gyu’s will is being carried out at around this time.
He feels a little empty as he opens the package, sent neatly like some sort of present. (He’d rather have the man right there with him, much more than any sort of gift, but maybe this could be enough for now.) It doesn’t feel real; a whole week and a day has passed since Byung-Gyu’s death.

OR: Choi Jong-in is an age regressor--- and his caregivers are Baek Yoon-Ho and Min Byung-Gyu. All is well--- until it isn't. Until the Jeju Island Raid. Until Min Byung-Gyu is dead.

“Well, your employees are working like snails, I figured I’d sit for a bit.” Antares shrugs. “You can’t incite them to work a little faster? I have other orders to do.”
“We’re in a rush today.” Jin-woo replies, his voice flat, clearly indicating he doesn’t care to listen to any more complaints. Unfortunately, because nothing ever goes his way, Antares only tilts his head.
“You can’t go work with them, then? Surely that’d speed things up.”
“I have other things to handle.” It was frustratingly difficult to shut a conversation with Antares down, and yet he continues to incite them, like a worm on a string. (It isn’t really his fault; it was better than the sly asshole getting to converse with anybody else.)

OR: McWoo is exhausted with one of the frequent Door Dash Drivers at McDonalds, Antares. He's about to quit his job as manager.

Summary
He woke up this morning feeling weird, a little overwhelmed, but hadn’t expected it to get this bad. Why did it hurt? Why were his ears ringing? He could hear so many different sounds. Laughing. Chewing. Squeaking. A few yips and barks. Snickering. Talking, whispering, the clattering of utensils and plates. Every little noise, normally easy to tune out, was suddenly on full volume.
Why was that?
Why couldn’t he turn it off?
It hurt.

“Promise me something, Kojiro,” Ainosuke said slowly, carefully stepping back as if it physically pained him. It might as well.
“Anything,” Kojiro replied, with an instant ease, no hesitation in his mind. He could do anything asked of him.
“Wait for me.” He didn’t expect that, though. His eyes widened slightly, and he looked at Ainosuke as the other teenager took a deep breath and looked off to the side. “I don’t know when I’ll be back. I don’t know when I’ll be free. But wait for me, because I know I’ll be back eventually.”
Kojiro opened his mouth to speak, and closed it again. He felt stunned. But it wasn’t surprising, at the same time. He wasn’t offended. His chest turned and squeezed, and he knew his answer.
“Okay.” He whispered. “Okay, I’ll wait, Aino.”

OR: Kojiro and Ainosuke were dating as teens; Kaoru didn't know, and yet every night, they were stealing time, just the two of them. Until Ainosuke's aunts find out, and force him to go to America.
They promise to wait for each other.

“What happened?” Kojiro asked, his voice soft and endlessly worried. “I heard a crash, and I had to force the door open, and you were.. on the ground.” Of course he was worried. Kaoru never just collapsed like that. He passed out, sure, more and more frequently recently, but it was never that loud. Along with that, from the times he’d done so where somebody could see, they knew he always fell asleep hunched over a table, too exhausted to keep his head up any longer. This time he was standing, and his body gave out.
Kojiro looked terrified.
Kaoru felt ecstatic.

Summary
There came a point in Kaoru’s life when he realized that the AI he’d created was now smarter than him, and that had been a… humbling experience. Also a bit terrifying because, for all his pride in his creation, he’d never expected Carla to figure out time travel. It should have been a moot point. It would have been a moot point. But then Kaoru found out that he missed his chance with Kojiro because of Adam and, well… that was just unacceptable.
