It's not the first time Beth notices Daryl's scent when they're pressed up against each other in a car trunk hiding from what sounds like hundreds of walkers. It isn't even the first time she seeks it out to calm herself. The subtle sweetness of it reminds her of honey. The kind straight from a hive, not the grocery store. When the sounds of growling and shuffling footsteps outside get quiet enough that sleep starts to become an option, they drift closer together. Beth doesn't make a conscious effort to tuck her face against Daryl's scent glands, but she isn't going to move away once she's there.

Wayne is used to getting calls about Eddie, whether from the nice secretary from Hawkins High or Hopper. He doesn't get calls from the hospital. He definitely doesn't get calls from the hospital about people that aren't Eddie. He's surprised to get a call from the hospital about Steve Harrington.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Steve was just naturally amazing at DND?
Like he can see the strategy clear as day and can’t understand why the other players are taking so long to decide on their next move. He’s never caught by surprise by the story. He built his nearly flawless absolute weapon of a character in less than twenty minutes.

“What in the world are you doing here?” he then asks, when he got his voice back and Steve, now kneeling on the ground sorting through the dirty laundry he brought, just shoots him a look.
“Uhh…laundry?” He looks a little lost, as if he doesn’t really understand the question.
“Um, yes, I can see that,” Eddie replies, shutting his book, “but why is Steve Harrington doing laundry…here? At a laundromat?”
Steve frowns and turns completely around, giving Eddie his full attention now. “Well, Eddie Munson” he says, putting emphasis on it, as if to prove Eddie’s not the only one who knows full names around here. “There’s a very simple answer to that. I don’t have a washing machine…but I like to wear clean clothes. You know?”

“So how’d you two meet?”
When Robin answers Eddie puts a hand behind his ear, leaning forward. “Huh?” he says, even though Steve’s pretty sure he heard the right thing. “You met on Hinge?” he then repeats Robin’s words for everyone, makes a confused face and looks into the crowd. Everybody laughs at that. He’s got every single person in this room wrapped around his ring clad finger. He’s such a performer, Steve wants to lick his collar bones. In his mind those two things are related right now for some reason.
“Okay, what’re you doing on Hinge matching men, if you’re gay?” he asks the million dollar question.

Sure, he kind of figured people might make it a big deal. After all, it wasn’t just Sam Owens as their coach talking up how this men’s team for USA Gymnastics could be the ones to break the streak since the Trials — it’s the whole of the gymnastics world, and goddamn if people didn’t love an underdog. It’s only that he’d just also sort of figured it’ll be about all of them: him and Lucas and McKinney and the rest of them. But they’d latched onto him, and now Steve has people tweeting about him and asking if he has a girlfriend or a boyfriend or someone, making memes and TikToks and edits, there’s a fucking timer, apparently, on NBC, or so Erica’s saying there’s gonna be (and historically she can’t be trusted not to lie to Steve’s damn face for fun, so he’ll believe it when he sees it, right), when Finals for the team come around, counting down to his event. The Harrington countdown. And, like, someone called him Clark Kent during the team qualifications? Like! What the fuck. How fuckin’ wild, right? Him. Jesus!
