Jiāng Chéng just scoffed “What are the fucking chances that you would just pick this building randomly? God, as if I didn’t see enough of you growing up, just because our mothers are fri—” Jiāng Chéng stopped, apparently frozen in the midst of the same realisation Jīn Zǐxuān was having.
“Oh.”
“Fuck me, are they serious? Jesus Christ, how did this even—fuck, you didn’t choose this place yourself, did you.”
Jīn Zǐxuān felt like he was being insulted, but he didn’t understand how. He bristled anyway. “I didn’t.”
“Great. Fucking amazing, our mothers want us to be best buds, is that it? Or are they just hoping we’ll snitch on each other?”
Jīn Zǐxuān’s earlier conversation echoed in his mind. “I think they were hoping we’d—look after each other.”-
Jīn Zǐxuān is a human disaster, and though Jiāng Chéng would quite happily watch his childhood nemesis burn his fingers off taking a tray out of the oven because he's never heard of oven mitts before, somehow he finds himself helping him out again and again. Probably just an instinct from years of keeping Wèi Yīng alive though.
