“Hello – o – o – o, hottie.” Drunken giggles preceded the crash of a body against his. Grunting, Nie Mingjue pushed him off without looking. “Oof! Wow, I’m a lot drunker than I thought!” More drunken giggling. Then a hand stroked along his arm, and that was it. Fuck this.
He turned the full force of his glower on A-Jun, or whatever the fuck his name was. “Fuck off,” he enunciated clearly. “Go find someone else to play your Daddy. I’m not interested.”
“Eep!” A-Jun stumbled backwards. Nie Mingjue watched sharply to make sure he didn’t hit his head, but luckily, the kid caught himself. Satisfied, Nie Mingjue turned away.
“Tch. That kid deserved it.”
Grrr. He just wanted to have a drink in peace. Alone. Unbothered. Was that so much to ask? Gritting his teeth, he turned to his other side.
Oh, shit. “Jiang Wanyin?”

Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)
