    Everything was fucked. Confused, betrayed, angry, hurt won’t even begin to cover how he felt, but Jason wasn’t going to stay put as they cart him off to Arkham for the simple mistake of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

    He wasn’t going back there, not to Arkham, never again.

    Fortunately he wouldn’t have to try to run, the portal swallowing him whole did all the work for him, now he was in a completely strange house with a gun to his forehead and a man with a metal arm staring him down.

    He was never going to be offered mercy, is he?

    Summary

    Dick, admittedly, doesn’t know what the rest of the team was doing because his eyes were glued on the intruder. A bulky man— tall and muscular— stood at the center of the lounge. Dick isn’t sure where exactly to begin describing him. A standard gun was in his hand, obviously the one where the bullet that almost hit Artemis came from, but it was obvious the man had more weapons on his person. He was completely covered, from the tan military style pants to the jacket that was left unzipped, to the shiny red helmet that was only the second most noticeable thing to Dick. The first: a red bat logo printed on the intruder’s chest.

    Dick could not begin to question anything (Who was this man? What was he doing here? Why is a gun and the bat symbol on the same person ?) because his thoughts can and should only be of the ways to take the threat down.

    Jason can’t stand dimension travel; he’s going to bullshit his way through this though.

    At first glance Thomas was sure the victim was already long gone, just a burned, mangled husk attached to tubes and wires. But he was shocked to see that the heart monitor was slowly beeping. “What happened?” Thomas immediately questioned. “There was an explosion in an abandoned building around Park Row. He was found in the rubble. He was resuscitated on the scene and coded once in the ambulance. Aside from severe burns, broken bones and trauma the worst injury seems to be a wound at his throat caused by a sharp object.” They rattled off more information as Thomas quickly prepped for surgery. Every second was going to have to count to save this one.

    Jason dies in the explosion after his throat is cut by Batman's batarang. But somehow he wakes up he in an alternate universe where Thomas and Martha Wayne didn't die, and Bruce never became Batman. Lost and alone Jason struggles with his injuries and his own existence, but the Waynes are determined to help him every step of the way. Jason finds himself the pseudo older brother to a teenage Dick and a baby Damian. Little do the Wayne's know that Jason has a knack for "adopting" kids. He starts with his own tiny counterpart.

    “You reported on Daith’s attempt to remove me as sitting CEO of Wayne Enterprises.”

    Clark paused for a moment.

    The article he wrote about the incident was insignificant, yet something about it seemed to have stuck out to Bruce Wayne.

    “A lot of reporters covered that story.”

    “Yes. A lot of reporters did, didn’t they?”

    It felt like a trick, but he nodded anyways.

    “So many reporters-” Bruce’s eyes finally moved away from the guests and back onto Clark. “And yet-” he took a small sip of the champagne- “you’re the only one who didn’t mention my kids.”
