Hizashi tends to not notice when he goes two days without sleeping. It's a bad habit (despite his mind's insistence that he never goes without at least 3 hours of sleep) that trails behind him like a smoker's cigarette. So, Shouta helps out as best he can.

Or was it just a futile, hapless attempt at ridding himself of the guilt burrowing through his skin, of tearing it out of him? The weight is barely tangible, now, but it’s there nonetheless, pressing against him and absent steel armor.

“Shush. Anyways,” Hizashi began. “Since we won’t be seeing each other on Christmas, I figured we should meet up the day before to exchange our gifts!”
Shouta looked up at his friend and tried to hold back his smile as he looked at his excited expression. His whole body was practically on top of their lunch table as he leaned forward to invade Shouta’s personal space.
“And what makes you think I’m getting you anything in the first place?” Shouta asked.
“That is the most illogical thing you’ve ever said,” Hizashi sighed. “Anyways, it’ll be fun. Two bros getting each other something nice, right?”
“Never call me that again.”
As it turns out, Shouta and Hizashi know each other way better than they thought they did

Upon meeting Shouta Aizawa, most would say he's a self-serving narcissist. They'd say he only has his personal gain in mind and could not give a single shit about those around him. This could not be any less true.
Throughout his life, he has given everything to those he loves without thinking he deserves anything in return. The people who love him have only just begun to realize this.
When he's finally forced to show some vulnerability, he will understand just how much his loved ones appreciate his selflessness.Or,
5 times Aizawa Shouta doesn't fully understand that he is loved, and one time those who love him have to hit him over the head with compassion for him to finally realize.
