It's new, at least." He sighed. "It's not exactly nice. I'd like something a little less... eugh. But it’ll do." He drawled lightly.
…what? What was he talking about? What was he talking about? Why was he even here? Why were either of them here?! He almost laughed, spitting his choked breath into his palms, incredulity climbing up his throat with a bitter wave of fear.
“Avid's not entirely wrong though, not really.” Scott mused, and the dull clicking of his heels slowed to a neat stop. “I did technically lead you out into the woods, and I did honestly mean to kill you.”

“You can’t!” Jimmy pleaded. He dropped the knife. “I- please, Tango.”
“I- what do you want me to do?!” Tango laughed incredulously, his voice creeping towards hysterics. “You killed Skizz! It was you! You’re the other killer!”
“I don’t want to kill you!” Jimmy protested.
“What- like you’ve got a choice here!?” Tango yelped. “You’re dead if I report you, buddy!”

Summary
Grian remembers the blood on his hands, in the water, on Scar's face. Scar does not remember the conversations he's had with Grian between the life games, only that he loved, died, and was left behind at the start of Last Life.
When they were soulbound, Scar could summon no more love from his heart, only spite.
Grian remembered he got Scar killed when they were soulbound, despite what he said to Scar, despite what Scar would do. And he killed Scar again, severing them, and Scar's time ran out.
Now they're in Secret Life. They cannot speak to each other, not truthfully. They're in a state of limbo, of void. They're unforgiving.

This new Hyrule was strange. Legend didn't know if it was something about the air, or the skies or anything else, but something about it was fundamentally different from the realms they'd seen before.
Whatever they were meant to do in this Hyrule, they needed to figure it out quickly, because whatever kingdom they were in was on the brink of war.

“Look, Tango, I need you keep an open mind,” Impulse said, hurriedly placing the bundle delicately in Tango’s arms, “and especially an open heart.”
Tango cradled it like he saw Impulse had. It had a very strange weight to it. After all, it was very heavy for its size. And, if he stayed still enough, he could vaguely feel a small amount of movement.
Almost like breathing.
“You were the only person who could help,” Impulse whispered, his voice pathetically wet as he carefully pulled the blankets back.
Tango tore his eyes away from Impulse, and onto the thing in the bundle.
His heart dropped.

Oh. Oh my goodness. First of all this is *heartbreaking,* in the best way possible, but it's also growth, it's a full circle, it's love, it's getting trapped in your own head, it's hope it's trust it's fear it is *so* many things and by *god* it is well written
