So, she’s currently being held somewhere, and can’t remember how she got there. Wherever there is, which she’ll probably find out soon, because villains love running their mouths and giving things away. She really isn’t in much of a position to judge, though, considering that now long-dead O.X.E. employee that she practically gave her whole life story to all those months ago while he was tied up and at her mercy. Damn. What is it they say? Walk a mile in the shoes of someone else and all that? At least she isn’t gagged like he was.
Or: Yelena has been kidnapped, and they want to know the truth about Bob. She'll do whatever it takes to protect him, no matter what it means for her.

He reaches for her, chains clinking, and she intercepts the movement by taking his large hand in both of hers and giving him a small smile. “Mine is Yelena.” She presses his hand to the front of her throat. “Yelena.” She repeats, letting him feel the vibrations and shifting of muscle as she speaks.

“I don’t. I haven’t.” She says. “Not in the way that matters. The Red Room didn’t care what we wanted, and I didn’t think I was interested in it, truthfully.” She’s afraid to bare herself like this. But she has to try.
She looks right at him. “But—maybe if I ever met someone that I really cared about, that I liked a lot, who was gentle, and kind, and made me laugh, I would want to try.”
“I hope you meet that someone.” Bob murmurs.
“I have.” She says quietly, picking at a loose thread on the duvet with her finger. “For the first time, I think I have.”

He stares at his trembling hands. “I don’t—I’m not—” his voice breaks, “—I don’t want to hurt anyone.” His gaze rises to meet hers, and there’s tears shining in the dark ocean blue of them. “Can you help me?” It’s a strangled, desperate whisper that claws its way out of his throat.
She drops to her knees beside him, reaching out with steady hands. Then, his palms are in hers, his fingers warm and dry against her own, and he’s holding on so tightly, she gets the feeling he thinks she’s the only thing tying him to the earth.
Just who are you, Bob? She thinks. And who am I, to you?
or; Yelena can't stop dreaming of a smile she doesn't recognize in any of the faces she passes. But with the problems she's got, a haunting smile is the least of her worries. Or it would be, until she meets an amnesic stranger who couldn't seem to care less if he lives or dies.
As their lives become inextricably intertwined, she finds herself drawn into a past she didn’t even know belonged to her. And some history, once stirred, refuses to stay buried.

Someone the universe had chosen to share her scars, her emotions, and all the bruised pieces in between. It was what anchored her through everything in life, the very reason she still pushed herself through her training in the Red Room, when Natasha died, when she felt like she had no purpose anymore...until her soulmate's injuries ceased to exist that she realized she was all alone.
As far as Bob knew, he had never given much thought to soulmates.
He always felt her there, tugging at the little string that connected them and sending along happy thoughts.
However, he'd always ignore it. It wasn’t his number-one thought in his already chaotic childhood. Not until the day he started feeling emotions and getting injuries that weren’t his. And then, nothing else mattered but trying to find her when a plethora of scars started to appear on his body...even if it meant entering the Sentry Project that would heal all his scars by accident.
