Summary
An invisible presence stalks the halls of Vampire Lord Cazador Szarr’s palace. Astarion, his favorite vampire spawn, is the first to notice. As the days go on, more and more signs appear that the palace is haunted. Cazador is enraged that this phantom seems to have taken a special interest in his most tortured slave.
In his darkest moments, Astarion used to dream that an angel would someday appear to save him from this nightmare. Could this phantom be his angel of darkness? Why does he refuse to show his face?
Little does he know that his mysterious protector is the banished, long-lost son of the Grand Duke of Baldur’s Gate.

Astarion tugged tighter on Wyll’s hair and the man winced. “It shouldn’t have been a problem,” Astarion hissed through his fangs. “I can always push through. I can’t remember when it’s been difficult, not for decades at least. Sex is my job. It’s what I do. It’s easy.
Astarion could see Wyll’s face fall in the mirror. “Is being with me something you have to force yourself through?”
“No!” Astarion quickly responded, not caring to pause and think about if it was the truth. “I chose this. I’m free, at least for now. It should be fine!”
Wyll pressed his lips together, hesitating. “But…it’s not fine, is it?”

Astarion starts to admit that he cares for Wyll. Astarion begins to allow himself to draw closer to Wyll -- but as he does, the things Wyll has left unsaid become a new obstacle to overcome.
