Those words had been like a bullet to the heart. He had known Neo would never love him the way he did Neo. And that attraction to Miw was there, lingering in the back of his mind. He had never really looked at a girl and felt an attraction, but Miw was something else altogether and it scared him.
Seeing them kiss outside the camper had been his breaking point. They didn’t need him, well they did, but not in the way he wanted to be needed, wanted. So he had left. No destination, no plan, nothing. Planning meant using his head, his intelligence, but that was something he was severely lacking if he believed they even wanted him with them, friendship, or otherwise.
He honestly hadn’t expected them to track him down, let alone admit they wanted him with them. But that embrace, Neo pulling him for that hug said everything. Even if they didn’t want him the way he wanted them, they still wanted him with them.
For now, it was enough, or so he thought.
