He looked back at Abbot. If he’d had energy, he would have smiled, but now he just looked at the attending for a few moments, before turning back to look out at the city before him.
“Don’t worry. I promise I won’t jump.” He was loud enough so that Abbot heard him without any problem. There was silence between them for a brief moment, before Frank continued. “I would never do that.”

“So–” Dennis starts, and Trinity honestly isn’t sure how she’s going to explain this one.
“I know it’s weird,” she says, gripping the steering wheel.
“I mean, it’s not that weird,” Dennis placates.
“He’s kind of a trainwreck,” Trinity defends, and then feels some type of way about the fact that she’s defending Langdon.
Dennis doesn’t disagree.
She promises him, “It’s only temporary.”
(Langdon's wife kicks him out. Trinity offers up her couch. She ends up learning a few things about her sworn enemy in the process.)

Summary
The good thing about working in such a chaotic environment is that no one notices when you’ve skipped meals. Langdon’s always eaten like a bird, was always teased for it by family and friends. He prefers quick snacks to big meals, and that’s how it’s always been. That’s why he works so well in the Pitt. He shoves a protein bar in his scrub pocket, knowing full well he won’t eat it later. But it makes him feel like his old self, the one before the benzos, when he pretends he still has an appetite.
Langdon has a problem with food.

The Protagonist doesn't want to talk about his past. He doesn't want to talk about how he's doing now. And he certainly does not have a fever. The whole world is burning up.

Mikhail had a conversation with Yesenin the day prior.
The man asked him if he could read a poem to him, and even though he agreed he still seemed to not be able to help himself and gave him a not so nice remark.
"That was a sad poem you know.. Maybe don't read it again."
To him it could sound normal at first but.. Was it really?aka: Mikhail thinks of the conversation he had with Yesenin during the day.
