“Absolutely not.” Albedo sends her a pointed look. “You know that just gives you time to stew in anxiety and get more worked up. You’re going to Rosie’s for inspiration—that’s an order from your supervisor.”

She lets out a hearty laugh, high and tinkering and infuriatingly beautiful to Beidou’s ears. The curve of her lips is spellbinding. “I didn’t think you’d get so worked up over some simple teasing,” Ningguang twiddles with her pipe absentmindedly, impossibly elegant in even the smallest of movements—a complete 180 to the utter bitch she is with Beidou. “Relax, they know it was a joke.”
“Relax?” And really, Beidou hates that Ningguang is the only one that ever gets her like this—makes her emotions explode like fire meeting a wild spark of lightning. It's infuriating. It's addictive.

“My beautiful boy,” Albedo lifts Kaeya’s head to press their foreheads together and feels a hot tear slide from Kaeya’s face onto their cheek. He makes a small, weak noise and Albedo swears they can feel it rumble through them until it's settled warmly in their gut.
“It’s you, you’re the one who tied me and made me beautiful,” He says weakly, pressing his forehead harder against Albedo’s.
“But you’re the focal point,” Albedo whispers against his mouth. “The ropes, the flowers; they’re lovely accents. Highlights and shadows. But you, you are the subject matter. You are what makes any of it beautiful."
