Noob stood frozen with a hand still on the doorknob, the chill from the outside air seeping into their skin and nestling in their veins. The figure remained perfectly halted, head bowed, water dripping steadily from their cap onto the welcome mat.
Something about them looked familiar. The slope of their shoulders. The way their arms hung close to their sides. The quiet tension in their posture. The silence that hung around them like a second skin.
Their head was hung low, hidden beneath the shadow of their cap, so Noob couldn’t make out any of their features. But even without a clear view, something about them felt… peculiar. It wasn’t until their eyes flicked to the avatar’s sweater that Noob realized the Guest branding. It was a small detail, but it made the figure feel familiar in a strange way. A way that made their stomach churn.
