In truth this wasn’t a particularly good time for Foggy either. Their caseload was racking up, they were getting new clients everyday, and while that was good for business it didn’t leave him with a lot of free time to try and untangle his parents' complicated marriage. There was also the matter of his best friend, the horned vigilante who all too frequently popped by for some TLC and who Foggy very much wanted to keep separate from his mother.
As though his thoughts had summoned him into existence, Foggy saw with horror as a pair of red gauntlets appeared on the edge of the open window leading to the fire escape. Striding over Foggy slammed the window shut and tried not to take much satisfaction at the yelp he heard from outside.

“We just need to make it back to the group,” Hakoda said. “We can find them, and— and get back to camp.” Together, they both looked outside to the desolate cave entrance, where thick bursts of snow were hurtling past almost parallel to the ground. They would be lucky if they could see their own two feet in front of them, much less the rest of their hunting party. Needless to say, Hakoda's plan did not fill Bato with much confidence.

That was how he ended up at a party with a baffling mix of people ranging from moms who seemed obsessed with “clean eating”, various politicians from Hakoda’s work who were all too happy to ask Bato about their “unique living circumstances'', and one person who Bato hadn’t expected at all. Enough so that when Bato saw him he stared for a good ten seconds, and immediately swiveled around in search of Hakoda.

In some universes they're not even together, not romantically or sexually—like in that horrible dream, even though she thinks they would've ended up together in that universe too, given a few more years and a couple of beers—in some traces of this multiversal mess, Matt and Foggy are just friends. But my God, are they best friends. Like brothers. Like sisters. Matt would've died for Foggy and Foggy would've killed for Matt.
She stares at the courthouse steps of her own goddamn universe and just feels sad.
