Summary
People don't like it when people are different than them. They hate them, beat them, swear at them, do anything they can to make sure that the offending party knows that they are unwanted. Midoriya Izuku was no exception.
80% of the world's population is made up of people with superpowers known as "quirks." That leaves 20% of the population without them and if you don't have a quirk you are seen as worthless, less than the rest of them. Different. Midoriya Izuku was born without a quirk and learned the harsh truth about the world too soon. Abandoned by his father, abused by his mother, bullied by his peers, and given a helpful piece of information from one of them, Izuku makes a decision on what he wants to do with his life.That is, he doesn't want it anymore.
Hopeless, dreamless, pained, sad, depressed Izuku thought it would all be over quickly. He'd done it. He killed himself. So how was he, the useless being who deserved nothing more than the grave his body rests in, given the second chance at life that everyone dreams of?
And is that second chance all it is cracked up to be?Maybe he really was better dead than alive.

Izuku Midoriya's Quirk was...dangerous. Since the age of four he knew what true nightmares were made of. Demons were the soldiers of hell, and they made it their mission to terrify him for fun. Peeling skin, black sillouhettes, and grating screams that froze him in place where only a part of it. Their words and dark hymns followed him, crushing his body and soul.
But not as much as his mother did. Inko was prone to using her fists and venomous words to beat him down, and she was worse than the demons who followed him day and night.
"God does not shine upon you,"
The demons repeated it like a mantra, and they were all right. God hated them all, the fallen wingless angels who he damned for eternity. He loathed Izuku too, the boy who could see them. Izuku was cursed with an uncontrollable Quirk, but he tamed those demons. They were his, and his alone.
God sneered at him, and he smiled devilishly back. God had given the demons exactly what they needed...
Izuku Midoriya. A King.
