“Hypothetically speaking, right?” Cassie asks, just for clarification on an answer that she’s growing more and more certain of it being no. Javadi just shrugs, which is worse than a yes or a no, and prompts so many questions on the tip of her tongue.

Hysilens turns to the voice behind her and raises her glass of honeybrew up to her lips upon seeing Cerydra, lest the fond smile breaking across her face get too out of control. “It is more than I could have hoped for.”
A lul in dialogue allows for Hysilens to study Cerydra a little more. The chatter and liveliness of the feast continues around them, but the people might as well be underwater as Hysilens’ every sense hones in on Cerydra.
It’s here, as close as they are, that Hysilens can feel that fire she yearns for the most; it burns hottest when she’s by her ruler’s side.

“He’s kind of a trainwreck,” Trinity defends, and then feels some type of way about the fact that she’s defending Langdon.
Dennis doesn’t disagree.
She promises him, “It’s only temporary.”
(Langdon's wife kicks him out. Trinity offers up her couch. She ends up learning a few things about her sworn enemy in the process.)
