“Jack, you can let me go now.”
Jack started, snapped back to reality. “Oh.” He let go immediately, as if Ralph had burned him. He did feel warm, was almost certain he was blushing. He grinned again. It was unsteady this time. “Ha.”

Eugene had barely extended his hand before he jerked it back with a sharp yelp. A stinging jolt ran up his arm, leaving his fingers tingling. It took him a second to realize what happened — Pugsley Addams had electrocuted him.
The kid just stood there, grinning like it was the funniest thing in the world.
“Electricity. Cool.” Eugene muttered with forced enthusiasm, rubbing his palm on his blazer as if that would erase the static buzzing in his nerves.
