If someone had asked David twenty years ago where he saw himself at thirty, he’d have said in front of a camera, with a microphone in his hand, reporting the important news of the day straight from the source. A correspondent traveling the world, braving the parts others didn’t.

Number Four lived in his own world. He happily injected himself into everything his siblings were doing, babbling incessantly in any language he felt like despite his father’s best efforts. Sometimes, he would speak to no one at all. He never seemed to run out of people, real or imagined, to want to be around.

It's been years since the events of Hotel Oblivion. It's a shame the apocalypse was prevented, really, because Klaus had just figured out how to work The Void and he had felt more confident and powerful than ever. Now, he's back to the land of the living with much less to his name: no powers, no fantastic tattoos, no Void, no purpose. It all gets to his head, and he's been spending these years trying to cope with that loss...among other things.
