Holly gets taken by Vecna and Mike knows he has bigger problems than his unrequited feelings (or so he thinks) for Will Byers. That doesn't stop him from spilling his guts anyway and avoiding the ensuing conversation by diving headfirst into the mindscape to save his baby sister, and maybe find Max along the way. But Will isn't going to let him get away with a confession that easily. AKA Mike is clocked by more than one person in the midst of the apocalypse and figures he might as well go for broke.

Mike’s cool and strong and brave and funny. His hair flops down over his forehead and his eyes bore into Will’s soul, always so steadily intense. He doesn’t cry when he scrapes his knee. Instead, he just gets back up.
