[Modern AU]
Scaramouche considers himself an average high school student. He’s not too happy but he’s not sad, he lives comfortably with his mother, and he has decent grades. He can’t stand his mother’s… best friend, or whatever the Yae Miko lady is to her, but he manages.
As a matter of fact, he doesn’t have any friends at school, and spends every minute free from homework looking at cat videos, but his school life is fine. He’s not bullied, or hated by anyone, people just leave him alone. He doesn’t mind.
But after his mother annoyingly forces a haircut onto him, he finds himself suddenly approached by multiple people at school who seem to recognize, out of nowhere, that he’s pretty handsome when he tries. This includes the gorgeous transfer student from far away, Kaedehara, or whatever his name is, and unfortunately also Scaramouche’s childhood neighbour Childe, with whom Scaramouche severed all ties after he joined some questionable gang and left him behind. And then there’s the blackhaired girl who gets on his nerves, always getting better grades than him.
And on top of everything, his mother and his science teacher Mrs. Kusanali are on his ass about finding a university for him.
